The Weilong V11 comes in four versions. This is the top one, and the only one built without springs.
It has a 20-magnet ball core with corner-to-core magnets, and 100 magnets in total. MagLev tensioning replaces the springs. Eight tension settings and eight compression settings give 64 combinations. The pieces are cut to resist popping and corner twist, and carry MoYu’s dragon scale texture, which holds lube longer. Glossy UV coating, 55.5mm, 67g.
The ball core is what separates this Weilong V11 from the cheaper versions. Corner-to-core magnets pull each corner into place as the layer closes, and that settled feel at the end of a turn is what makes fast solving accurate as well as quick.
Sixty-four combinations is a wide range. Most people find a setting they like within a fortnight and leave it there, but the range is wide enough that the cube can follow your turning as it gets faster.
The three versions below it are the Standard and UV, which have no core magnets and 48 in total, and the 8-Magnet version, which has 64 and keeps its springs.
Cubes dry out with use and start to feel scratchy. A few drops of MoYu Lube No.1 5ml keeps the turning smooth and slows the wear.
