The M Pro range is QiYi putting flagship features into budget cubes, and the QiYi M Pro 2×2 is the clearest example. Adjustable tension on a budget two-by-two is not something the competition offers.
Factory magnets hold it stable through a fast turn. The tension adjusts. Corner cutting is strong and the turning is fast with very few lock-ups.
Adjustment is the thing to understand on the QiYi M Pro 2×2. A 2×2 solve can be over in seconds once you know what you are doing, and it is almost entirely short, fast turns. How tight the cube is set changes your times more than on any larger puzzle. A fixed cube either suits you or it does not.
Against the GAN251M Air this is cheaper and adjustable, where the GAN is lighter and simpler. Neither is the wrong answer.
Cubes dry out with use and start to feel scratchy. A few drops of GAN No.1 Lube Maintenance 10ml keeps the turning smooth and slows the wear.
