The GAN16 Maglev Max is the most heavily engineered cube GAN has released. The magnet count is the headline. It carries 124 magnets working with a twelve-ring dual magnetic system, against 100 in MoYu’s flagship and 64 in a good mid-range cube.
MagLev replaces the centre springs. Auto-alignment works up to 40 degrees. A spherical orbit core support sits inside an omni-support structure. Seventy-two tuning combinations cover elasticity, tension and magnetic force, using detachable magnet rods. The coating is a glossy UV. It measures 56mm and weighs 62g.
That 40 degree auto-alignment is what most people notice first. Turn a layer imprecisely and the GAN16 Maglev Max finishes it for you, so there are fewer lock-ups at speed and far less penalty for untidy finger tricks. The hollowed omni-support structure reduces the internal contact area, which makes a very fast cube feel forgiving.
In the box: the GAN16 Maglev Max, a cube bag, a GAN box, an identity card, tuning tools, a manual and eight corner-foot magnet rods. The rods are what make the 72 combinations possible, so keep them somewhere safe. Being able to change the magnetic strength itself, and not merely the tension, is unusual at any price.
Protect the finish with GAN16 Mat and maintain it with GAN No.1 Lube Maintenance 10ml.
