Pyraminx is one of the cheapest WCA events to get into, and the Meilong Pyraminx M is the puzzle that makes that true. It is magnetic, which most puzzles at this price are not, and magnets matter more on a pyraminx than on a cube.
The magnets are pre-fitted and properly strong rather than token, so the layers hold their line instead of wandering. A notched piece design improves stability and turning accuracy. MoYu’s frosted plastic has a semi-gloss finish, and the turning is fast with easy corner cutting.
A pyraminx has only four axes and the turns are large. Without magnetic positioning it wanders out of line constantly, and you spend the solve correcting it instead of solving it.
The Meilong Pyraminx M works as a first pyraminx, and it is good enough that plenty of people never replace it. Not many puzzles at this price manage that.
