A kilominx stands in the same relation to a megaminx as a 2×2 does to a 3×3. The edges are gone and only the corners move. The Meilong Kibiminx is often sold as a 2×2 megaminx for that reason, which is accurate but sells the difficulty short.
Twelve faces and twenty corners is a much larger problem than six faces and eight, and most people take considerably longer over their first kilominx solve than they expect. That is the appeal.
The Meilong Kibiminx is not magnetic, which is what keeps the price where it is. The turning is smooth, corner cutting is good, and it has the Meilong build quality throughout.
It is also the cheapest honest way to find out whether you would enjoy megaminx. If the twelve-sided geometry appeals, MoYu Meilong Megaminx (Magnetic) is the next step.
