The 251 name is the format and the size, a 2×2 measuring 51mm, which is a millimetre over standard. The GAN251M Air is the entry version of three, and the one to buy for speed without weight.
Forty-two magnets between the corner pieces, fixed instead of adjustable. No magnet in the core, which is what keeps it to 50g. GES nuts give two nut distances and four levels of elasticity. The frosted surface resists fingerprints and scratches. It corner cuts 55 degrees forward and 35 in reverse. A tuning rod and manual are in the box.
Leaving the core unmagnetised is the point of the GAN251M Air. A 2×2 solve is over in seconds and consists of short, fast turns, so a light cube that starts moving with no resistance suits many solvers better than a heavier one.
The GAN251M Pro above it adds core magnets and adjustable magnet strength. This is the lighter, simpler cube of the two.
