The GAN11 M Pro is the cube that made GAN’s name with serious solvers, and it is still a genuinely good cube at a good price. Newer GAN flagships have moved further on the engineering, but very little of that shows up in your times.

Corner-to-core magnets sit on removable stems. Magnet strength has three settings. Tension has four and spring compression six, adjusted independently, which comes to 72 combinations. The honeycomb piece texture holds lubricant in place and spreads it evenly. Primary internal plastic, frosted exterior, 63g.

The corner-to-core magnets are the reason the GAN11 M Pro turns the way it does. Each corner is pulled towards the middle of the cube as a layer closes, so a turn taken most of the way round is squared up for you.

On the adjustments, tension sets how tightly the pieces are held to the core and compression sets how hard the spring pushes back. Between them they take the cube from soft and forgiving to tight and fast.

The removable stems are worth knowing about. Not many people end up changing the magnets, but knowing you could is part of the appeal. If the corner-to-core feel turns out not to suit you, the cube converts back to a conventional magnetic 3×3 in a few minutes.

Frosted against UV is a surface decision. Frosted is matte, reflects less light and gives a medium grip. The UV version is glossy and grips harder. Neither is quicker.

Cubes dry out with use and start to feel scratchy. A few drops of GAN No.1 Lube Maintenance 10ml keeps the turning smooth and slows the wear.
