GAN Pyraminx Enhanced UV (60 Magnets)

The GAN Pyraminx Enhanced UV is the top version of GAN’s pyraminx, combining the full 60-magnet layout with the glossy coating. Pyraminx is a grip-dependent event, so the surface finish matters more here than on most puzzles.

Sixty magnets, split as 24 corner-to-centre, 12 edge-to-core and 24 edge-to-centre. Upgraded core positioning. A glossy UV coating for grip and scratch resistance. The honeycomb piece texture holds lubricant in place and distributes it evenly. Corner cutting to 120 degrees. Spare GES springs in yellow, blue and purple. It weighs 66g.

The core-edge magnetic system is what separates the GAN Pyraminx Enhanced UV from older pyraminx designs. One polarity sits in the core and the other in the edge pieces, so each turn is pulled square from the centre outwards instead of only at the surfaces. The result is a firm stop at the end of a turn without the sluggish start that strong surface magnets tend to give.

The honeycomb texture on the GAN Pyraminx Enhanced UV is a small thing solvers notice over months rather than minutes. Reducing the contact area between pieces keeps lubricant where it was put instead of letting it migrate, so the puzzle stays smooth for far longer between applications.

Against the frosted GAN Pyraminx Enhanced the magnet count, mechanism and included springs are the same. The difference is the coating. Glossy and high grip here, matte and medium grip there.

Cubes dry out with use and start to feel scratchy. A few drops of GAN No.1 Lube Maintenance 10ml keeps the turning smooth and slows the wear.
