The RS3M line is where a great many cubers work out that a good cube need not be expensive. This is the dual-adjustment version, second of four in the V5 range.
Forty-eight factory-fitted magnets. Nine levels of elasticity adjustment through a screw and spring system. A frosted exterior, anti-pop feet and an anti-twist corner design. The pieces carry MoYu’s dragon scale texture, which holds lube longer and keeps the turning smooth. It measures 55.5mm and weighs 67g.
It corner cuts 55 degrees forward and 35 in reverse, enough to absorb untidy turning while you build speed.
What makes the MoYu RS3M V5 worth its price is simply that it is a good cube. It is quick, it is quiet, and it is stable enough to hold a solve together at speed. The nine settings let you shift it from soft to tight as your preferences change, though that is a matter of taste rather than one setting being better than another.
Cubes dry out with use and start to feel scratchy. A few drops of MoYu Lube No.1 5ml keeps the turning smooth and slows the wear.
